If the drive is attached to a PCI card, doesn't it get around the 128Gb limit ?
I was always under the impression that PCI acts as a separate bus so it gets around the onboard IDE limit on the Logicboard - no matter whether it is a SATA or PATA PCI card.

Some of the older ATA PCI cards did not have large drive support because of the controller on the card so it doesn't always solve that issue.

The PCI controller cards do completely bypass the onboard controllers but may still suffer the same limitations depending on which controller chipset is used. I know very little about the PCI SATA cards but I thought they all had large drive support. I'm sure Harry knows more about it than I do.
