Re:Pismo won't turn on with new harddrive installe - 2008/03/17 06:23 Dear cindel,
After having confirmed the check ,as suggested by swordbreaker55,it may be worth your while to check the following:
Dear macnut944,
I have five "dead" prismo as "throw out from a school here and everyone of them had the same symptoms as yours.
The answer to your problem is the PRAM battery, everytime (mostly).
To fix this problem access the PRAM battery(remove K/B first )unplug the small connector of the PRAM battery then lay the K/B back into place and press the start button (with P/supply in place and on).
Sit back and watch your prismo boot as it should and then after booting is complete lay open the K/B and reconnect PRAM lead and "recharging" commences ,or so it has for me (five times in a row).
As the odds of this being a fluke are unlikely then this seems to be the answer.
Please give it a go and tell us your results as I'm sure your prismo will fire up,as I said (above)it worked for five machines in succession and that could not be an entire fluke (coincidence).
Not sure what the explanation is but for no outlay I have returned five "dead" prismo's back to productive life.
Regards
mick
