Re:A large hard drive in MDD - 2006/08/01 01:58 It should work fine except the transfer rate will be like a ATA100 drive. You could add an ATA 133 PCI card but it would be harldly worth the cost for the increase. You'd probably be better off getting a SATA PCI controller and an adapter for the ATA drive. That way you could add SATA drives in the future and the cost for both the controller and adapter will be about the same as an ATA133 PCI controller card.

Most ATA drives will work on most ATA busses no matter what the speed but the speed will be the slower of the two. The ATA stuff is backwards compatible.
