Reset or disable firmware password - 2009/10/25 12:00 How does one reset or disable the firmware password?
I need to do this before I can boot to a disk and install an OS.
Apple knowledge base article #HT1352 says "Note: Firmware password protection does not prevent someone with physical access to the computer from restarting it or turning it off."
Most keyboard commands are disabled. (pram, C,T, safe boot, single user)
Start up manager and open firmware require a password.
Removing the battery and video card and changing the memory configuration do not help.
Resetting the smu (button on keyboard) does not help.
(if I can find another powermac G5 to borrow I could install an OS, boot and use a program to disable the firmware password)

Any ideas?
