Re:Upgrading my G4 iMac to 10.4 from 10.3.9... - 2009/09/29 16:47 As a suggestion go with the full retail install DVD rather than the upgrade. Then do an archive and install of Tiger and on the desktop will appear a folder entitled 'old OS' or similar with all your files and applications in it.

Then at your leisure you can open the folder, and drag whatever you wish to save. Make sure you update to X.4.11.

Also the full retail disc, which is black is the version you need, and do not purchase silver grey system restore discs which abound on eBay and such, is the best trouble shooting utility about.
