OS9.2.2 / - 2009/08/23 20:03 Came across what appears to be somewhat odd when I accidently selected 'About this computer', when in OS 9. What came up was:-
Version OSZ1 9.2.2 Mac OS ROM 10.2.1.
What is being run is OS 10.4.11 and this is listed when About this computer is brought up in OSX.

Re:OS9.2.2 / - 2009/08/24 17:02 OS ROM 10.2.1 is the firmware and not the actual operating system which was of course 9.2.2. Caused some confusion in early OS X days. Was also subject to posts at Apple Discussions, read the second last post (and not the last lol):-

Re:OS9.2.2 / - 2009/08/24 20:19 Thanks Harry. It had me scratching my head because OSX 2.1 was the original OSX when the machine was bought new. Both OS 9.2.2 and OSX 2.1 were installed by Apple agent. The Post was interesting in that it appears OS 9.2.2 creates problems. Odd. What I'm finding is that when OSX on either of the HDs start playing up it pays to load and run OS9.2.2
Thanks again
Rex

Re:OS9.2.2 / - 2009/08/25 17:02 Well something has gummed up the works somehow!

Firmware whilst in OS X should be 4.2.8f. May well be a time for a check on the drive, format and re-install.

Re:OS9.2.2 / - 2009/08/28 20:42 Thanks Harry
Did a search in OS 9.2.2 for Firmware Updates. There are quite a few of them running up to Firmware 7.2.6. Yet the 'about this computer' only shows Firmware 2. Interesting and can it be sorted?
