safari - 2009/06/07 16:23 hate to say it, but it's been crashing on me, it just doesn't like typical navigating...i tend to use firefox more often never with any problems...can't think of why safari would be crashing, does it not like other browsers open? i'm using the latest updates...

Re:safari - 2009/06/08 01:50 Someone on the forum mentioned that other browsers use the OS operating system. If that's is true then that could be the reason your Safari is crashing. Safari and Mail both use the OS in order to be fast.

You could try running Permissions/ or Disk Repair.

Re:safari - 2009/06/08 14:32 If you have all the OS updates and you are not using the Safari Beta version try these steps:

Reset Safari Users who're experiencing persistent crashing in Safari should first reset Safari using the option in the "Safari" menu. It is recommended to check all options to reset and hopefully this will fix the problem.

Delete the history plist file Some users have cured certain crashes by removing Safari's history file, which is located in the /username/Library/Safari/ directory and is called History.plist. Upon removing this file, Safari will create another one. Beyond just this file, users may also try removing others in the same "Safari" directory. It is recommended to first back up these files, as they may contain important information such as bookmarks.

Re:safari - 2009/06/08 17:10 Full version of Safari 4 released today. Try that perhaps? It sure seems faster then the beta release.

Re:safari - 2009/06/09 00:27 Resetting Safari interesting.
I run OS X.4.11 on both an internal and external HD. Safari works on the external and not on the internal.
Have done a Safari Reset on the Internal HD and Cookies are a problem. Reset all options except Cookies. Select that option and Safari drops out.
Question is how do you Trash Cookies?

Re:safari - 2009/06/09 06:43 Hi Eternalvibe
I'm running Safari on the internal HD. It's a long time since that has been possible. In Safari Reset 'Cookies' caused Safari to crash. Removed 'cookies Plis' and Safari no longer crashed.
Thanks Krowmagnum
