Re:Discussion Q&A - Mac Pro Features? - 2006/07/17 11:06 FWIW, these guys think the Mac Pro will have Xeon processors instead of Core 2 Duos. I think the Core 2 Duo doesn't work well in dual processor configs. I can't remember where I saw it, but you lose a huge amount of performance. But all these guys are just guessing. It could be Core 2 Duo at the low end and Xeon at the high end. I hope these spec are wrong because I really want more than two drive bays (one free bay on a pro box, WTF?). I'd like more than three PCIe slots too, but that's dreaming.
