Which HDD for new Macbook - 2009/05/14 21:26 I'm planning to upgrade HDD in my macbook (Unibody)
I'm thinking between Seagate Momentus 320GB@7200rpm and WD Scorpio Black 320GB@7200rpm - which one would be better?
And some extra questions:
- is 7200 worth it? I mean some people says that they are more noisy, other people say that they don't hear it or that they don't mind the noise because it's not that bad. on the other hand - people say that there's significant performance boost when changing from standard 5400 to 7200
- they both comes with version with G-Force Protection/Free-fall Sensor systems. those are a little bit more expensive but on the other hand - I did have recently a disc failure (on a PC) and no backup and now I know how much damage and costs it can produce so maybe it's better to buy one with that protection to save data on disc? on the other hand I found some posts on the net that someone had a problem with g-force protection on a macbook.
