Re:Discussion Q&A - Look Back on Intel Switch? - 2006/07/17 19:49when the switch was first made i was disappointed b/c i think the ppc risc architecture is better and made the mac faster or at least different. but i play games and on the mac meant that i did not get to play some of them at all. still i saved my money, waited, and waited and bought them when they came out tho. i never did buy a pc for games but i did get a ps2. with intel macs it is nice that i can install windows and play windows games but this means that they wont get ported to the macos at all and dont think thats good for apple long term. some other software prob wont make it either.
cacicedo, i have been worried by some of the rev a problems too. youre prob right about the road map tho. it did not make sense for moto and ibm to make processors just for apple (and embedded devices). with intel making them for all of the windows pcs they should hang around for a while. i think it was a neccessary evil kinda thing that apple had to do.
