Finally bit the bullet - 2009/04/19 13:50 With all the problems I've had with my G4/350 with speed, printing etc. I decided to take the plunge. I now have a new Mac Mini running OS 10.5.6 with I Works and Bento.

Bento is a loser...very limited. It can't handle even some of the simple functions I have in my existing databases using Filemaker Pro 3.

I also found out about a freeware app called SheepSaver that will run old OS 9 apps on OS 10.5. I'm going to set that up and give it a try.

I also found out that I can't transfer my old data directly, as OS 10.3 doesn't talk to OS 10.5. I have to copy to an external drive and then transfer from that to the Mini.

My question I have now has to do with the Address Book.

Is there a way to copy the "Previous Recipients" file from OS 10.3 to OS 10.5. I transfered the Address Book but the "Previous Recipients" file did not copy.

Thanks,

Mike

Re:Finally bit the bullet - 2009/04/19 19:08 FileMaker Pro 3 is rather ancient isn't it? My experience with FileMaker 7 on a G4 1.25 running OS10.4.11 made me upgrade to FileMaker Pro9.
