not sure if this problem is unique but... - 2009/04/17 02:17 i have recently purchased a G3 600mhz osx 10.2.8.
having a couple problems...
1 if i have classic i can't find it.
2 the support discs were lost, broke, or gave away before i bought it.

so heres what i think i need. 1 classic...i been trying to get a few programs to run but i keep hitting the "no classic found" wall

2 a new, whether i burn them or i buy them, support discs so i can actually restore it to some semblance of a working order

any info that you have for either of these is welcomed and appreciated

what it can do it does faster than the laptop i am now but most of the time it can't do much more than sit there.

anyway thanks for reading this and hopin to find something out so i can get my baby runnin right.

Re:not sure if this problem is unique but... - 2009/04/17 17:29 Have a look around Craiglist and eBay and see if you can pick up the system restore discs for that precise model 600MHz G3. Should be OS 9.1 and about X.1.

You may have to do a format of the drive and a clean install of both operating systems. When set up with OS X only on e has the option of installing OS 9 drivers, or not.

What you are describing sounds typical of an install without the OS 9 driver. Also check out the memory and see if an upgrade is needed. Maybe further improvement could include a 7200RPM hard drive.

Here are the machine specs and note you can install up to 1GB memory:-
