Someone help me with buying an iphone?. - 2008/11/07 12:11I would like one that would have GPS, check email and be able to use local cell phone services.
So far during research on the matter I've found that there are two distinct kinds of iphones. The old kind allows different cell phone services while the new kind is locked into an expensive contact. The old one doesn't have the GPS, while the new kind does have this feature.
Is this correct?. I'm sorry if I come across stupid...I've never had a cell phone and am only trying to get one now because my household phones keep going down and I'm almost down to no phone service at all now.

only the iphone 3g has gps so if you need an iphone w/ gps thats the one to buy.

then just buy any cell phone you dont need an iphone.
