Switch DVD from external to internal?? - 2006/07/07 10:02I recently purchased a Sony DVD burner mounted in a US2.0 external case (because I had a USB2.0 PCI card and I didn't think about using Firewire. Dumb!!!). My computer is a mirrored door G4 dual.
Now my PCI card died and I have to get a replacement (I have other USB 2 devices) but I was wondering should I just move the DVD to the second internal slot under my Combo drive. My main concern is to have a constant high speed connection for data transfer because the DVD doesn't like the builtin USB1.1 ports on the computer.

Re:Switch DVD from external to internal?? - 2006/07/07 10:17You could install the DVD burner in the G4 and use the empty USB 2.0 case for another burner or hard drive.
I would put a hard drive in the external case and mount the DVD-R in the G4.
