Re:Streaming Video on G4 800mhz Digital Audio - 2008/11/06 02:00Krowmag Thanks to you and the other guys, I bought Tiger on Ebay, bought a new pioneer internal DVD drive, installed it myself and I now have a well functioning G4.
New question. Will Windows Media Player work on my G4? Don't like the inconviences of Quick time. If not WMP, what is the best player to use?
Thanks

Re:Streaming Video on G4 800mhz Digital Audio - 2008/11/06 08:37It's good to hear you found what you needed and everything is working well.
You can get WMP for Mac OS X or use QT with the Flip4Mac add-on to play wma & wmv files.
But personally I prefer the VLC media player over anything else. VLC plays just about any kind of media file and has some nice features for adjusting the video and audio. It also plays DVD's too, but Apple's DVD Player app is pretty good for DVD's too.
Your 800MHz G4 will handle most video ok but it will be a little underpowered for some higher quality video. You may want to try the different players to see what works best for which video. I have both VLC and QT/Flip4Mac on my QS G4 but I use VLC most of the time.
