dead 30 gig video ipod - 2008/09/21 18:12 i have a 30G video ipod. it is synced to my Windows PC which is an Inspiron E1505. i recently purchased a MacBook Pro and am in the process of transferring my files from the first to the second. at this time all my music is still on the original Windows, so i haven't been syncing my ipod to the MacBook or anything like that, but i had been plugging it into the MacBook to charge it. I am pretty good about ejecting my ipod before i unplug it from the computer, although the few times i have forgotten there haven't been any consequences. This time, however, when I accidentally pulled the cord out of the USB port my ipod immediately turned off, although it had been charging all day. It kept turning on long enough for the apple logo to show up, but then it makes a dejected clicking noise and turns right back off. it repeats this process until the battery runs out, and if i plug it back in it starts the whole glorious process over again.
i have been searching for an answer online for a while but i can't find any reports of anyone else having this problem. does anyone know what i can do?
last time i had to get my ipod repaired it cost $75 for pretty minor work....i am a starving artist living in chicago, and i can't afford to get it fixed again, but living without my ipod is killing me!

sounds at least corrupted maybe damaged if you yanked it out hard and it hit the floor or something. try restoring it.
