iPod Syncing - 2008/09/02 20:42
Okay, this is a problem that has completely stumped me and my Googleing efforts.
I am using an old iPod 30GB Video, with the latest version of iTunes on an iMac running OS X Version 10.5.4
The unsolvable problem occures when I try to sync my iPod with the music that is all on my computer. This music was taken, using Migration Assistant, from my laptop, a MacBook running OS X Version 10.4.11. All of this music is playable on the computer, but when I seek to sync it with my iPod, I receive an error message stating Attempting to copy to the disk "Sam's iPod" failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. iTunes could not save to your Music Folder because you do not have write access. Check the permissions in your Music Folder and folders in your Music Folder, then try copying this file again. After this error message appears, my iPod freezes, and I must restart it before the computer will even realize it's there again.
Here is what I have tried to solve this problem. -I have restored the iPod. This left me with a blank iPod that still won't sync. -I enabled write access for all users in every folder in my Music Folder. This left me with the exact same problem and the exact same error message. -I enabled sharing for all folders in my Music Folder. This did nothing as well. -I enabled the Root User to give me total access to all file permissions. This left me with the same issue as before.
Now, iTunes will sync a hundred or so songs before freezing and disconnecting the iPod. Does anyone have a solution to the problem?
