PB170 SCSI-Drive - 2008/09/02 15:44 Hello Folks!

Recently my PB170 died! :-(
Now Ive got this Harddisk I wanted to mount anywhere else that i can save my files.

The problem ist that therse a 2.5 scsi 40-pin plug which i cant attach to a normal 50-pin. Click here 4 images

iv googled a lot and only found 50 to 40 IDE adapter and no SCSI adapters.

has anyone an idea how to get the disk running?

Im still googling an im near to make a connector myself... :-P

Read the "Another customer's experience with USB SCSI" section that relates to what you want to do.

Unfortunately you need a 2.5inch SCSI laptop drive adapter card and I don't have a clue where to even look for one other than eBay. I googled for the adapter and found nothing.

You can probably find another old Powerbook on ebay pretty cheap too. There are 3 170's on ebay at the moment.
