iTunes issue - 2008/08/09 12:04Sorry if this has been covered before but I couldn't find it. I recently changed laptops and my new system says my iPod is in recovery mode when I hook it up. I am running Win XP on the laptop. I use my home system, Vista :-(, to sync the iPod also and it works fine. I have deleted and re-installed iTunes on my laptop and the same thing happens. I don't know what to do with it at this point. I don't want to do a full restore since it works fine on my home system.
Thanks for any ideas.

Re:iTunes issue - 2008/08/09 14:04Hey everyone. Obviously this is another Microshaft issue as I plugged in my iPod now and everything comes up perfectly. Maybe time to change to a Mac.....

Re:iTunes issue - 2008/08/09 14:48Well perhaps I spoke too soon. I just updated iTunes to the latest version and now it again says it detects an iPod in recovery mode and that the iPod must be restored before it can be used with iTunes. Again, the iPod works fine on my home system but not on my new laptop.

Re:iTunes issue - 2008/08/09 16:40Well found e problem for sure this time. Windows assigned the iPod a drive letter that is already used on my network. Reassigned the iPod to a different letter and it works.

Re:iTunes issue - 2008/08/09 20:38Glad to hear you got it working. I guess no one here has much experience with XP or Vista.
Still might want to consider a Mac anyway ;-)
