Goodbye Safari? - 2008/06/28 22:34 I don't use Safari or Mail, preferring other apps.
Can I safely remove both in Tiger?

Re:Goodbye Safari? - 2008/06/29 00:06 I don't know why you couldn't just drag them to the trash.

I don't use mail and rarely use Safari but they don't take up much space so I just leave the apps in the folder. I did find that Safari can download flash files easily so I still use it on occasion.

Re:Goodbye Safari? - 2008/06/30 00:05 Thanks Krow,
I'm just a little afraid to dump anything in an OS with so many library files. I remember what happens on the dark side when one tries to get rid of anything which came with that OS.

Re:Goodbye Safari? - 2008/06/30 09:34 As I understand it, Explorer on Windows is the app that navigates the system. Safari is just a web browser. BIG difference!

Re:Goodbye Safari? - 2008/07/15 15:18 I'd leave Safari as it is how you select your default browser.

Also I find Safari very good.
I use Safari, Firefox and Camino regularly, each have their strengths.

Re:Goodbye Safari? - 2008/07/15 17:05 If Safari is to stay as the number one Mac browser, it really does need to come up to scratch like Firefox. For example, using Google on Firefox, one inserts the query and has the option here in Australia of a world wide web search or Australia Only search.

Do not know if this is the same situation world wide but Apple need to think outside mainland USA or it really is 'Goodbye Safari'.
