MacBook Pro Versus PowerBook G4 - 2008/04/30 16:58I edit films (mostly shorts) on Final Cut Pro. I was about to purchase a MacBook Pro but am curious to know how the PowerBook G4s compare. One incentive to go with a G4 is that I may buy a Panasonic HVX 200 so I wouldn't need to buy an adapter for the P2 cards. I would love to save the extra money by buying a G4 but if the MacBook Pros are that much better...well...any advice?

Re:MacBook Pro Versus PowerBook G4 - 2008/07/05 20:53Seems that Leopard is the last OS that will run on PPC chips. I suspect that soon thereafter Apple will stop making software that will run on PPC chips.
That aside, you might want to look at comparisons of the two computers, at MacWorld. The difference is pretty major, if you ask me.
