External monitor on imac g3 - 2006/06/27 22:36I have an external monitor on my imac G3 500 and wanted to know if there is anyway to extend the desktop onto the external, or if it can only mirror the screen

Re:External monitor on imac g3 - 2006/07/09 21:35The iMac's video card was only capable of mirroring the internal display. Some older Macs' firmware can be modified to run an extended desktop via Screen Spanning Doctor, but according to the supported machines list, the CRT iMac is not one of them. Neither is my 700MHz eMac. Nuts.
