First, check the obvious.
1. Is the RAM seated properly in the processor card? If not, disassemble the system, pull the processor card from the main logic assembly, and reseat the RAM, then reseat the processor card.
2. Reseat the processor card if needed. Insert the tabbed edges into the slots provided, lower the card into place, and press down firmly on the right edge of the card to secure it. You should be able to feel it snap in.
And one not-so obvious item, the RTC/PRAM battery, might be gumming up the works. To fix this, you'll need to pull the battery from its plastic sheath at the bottom-right-hand corner of the exposed computer assembly, and then pull the tiny plug on the battery from the logic assembly. Connect a new battery to the logic assembly, and then reinsert it in the sheath.
If this still fails, there is a possibility that a board was stressed or cracked during your upgrade. The above steps should rule that out.
