Wall Street G3 PowerBook 266 - 2008/02/23 21:22Dear mac users, My Power book ,Wall street with 10.2.8 & 196 ram works fine, considering its age, although the removeable floppy bay "thingo"will not operate since OS10.2.8.was installed. Are any of you keen users aware of any problems with floppy readability for this configuration, worked OK with 9.2? mick

Re:Wall Street G3 PowerBook 266 - 2008/02/23 23:08The floppy drive will not work in Wallstreet and Beige G3's running OS X. There is a driver here but I have never used it:

Re:Wall Street G3 PowerBook 266 - 2008/02/24 12:07Yes, definitely let us know how it works.
I think the Wallstreet has better luck getting the floppy driver to work than the Beige G3 although the reports mention it takes a minute or more to read a disk. If it works it's better than nothing though.

Re:Wall Street G3 PowerBook 266 - 2008/03/10 05:58Removable floppy drive, drivers were looking great although turned out to be nothing but a "fizzer" (no good) so perhaps one day some kind person may stumble onto the answer but in the mean while I'll just get along without floppy's!! Thanks anyway. Mick

That's a bummer. You could always load OS 9 and it may work in Classic mode, and will work if you boot into OS 9. That's the only option left as far as I know.
