But, i guess i lost some jumpers, and I need to know the settings for the HDD and CD-ROM drives. it has an AppleCD 600i, and a 500mb Quantum Fireball SCSI disks.

Re:Again with the 7200/75 - 2007/09/13 09:17 This should have the jumper info for the Quantum:

Hopefully your drive model is listed. If you look closely some of the old SCSI drives had little marks for which jumper pins to use for which ID # you want.

You can always use the trial error method to get both drives to show up.
Start with the drive and add a jumper about in the middle set of pins. Hopefully this will give you a SCSI ID that will allow the Mac to boot. Once it's booted check the ID number with SCSI Probe software:

As long as the SCSI ID's don't conflict it doesn't matter which SCSI ID numbers you use.

The CD-ROM should have numbers above or below the pins. It's been a while since I had a 600i but I can't remember any CD-ROMs that were not labeled with ID numbers.

Re:Again with the 7200/75 - 2007/09/14 01:26 I'd forgotten about those jumper pins. It's yonks since I've SCSI been used.

I'd like to forget SCSI ......I still play with my old PowerTower Pro clone once in a while and the SCSI monster creeps back into my life just to give me a headache.

Re:Again with the 7200/75 - 2007/09/15 02:07 Probably why I've put out of mind. I had a SCSI scanner which had a mind of it's own.
