Thanks for the support,yes it doe's sound like the cold cathode bulb although that means a fair bit of research to locate something that will suit as a replacement.Something for my idle hours (of which I have none).
Anyone know of an alternative replacement before I disassemble and further the research myself?
Thanks again harryb I will not rest until I complete repairs as I love my 20" apple screen.
