old 7200/ 75 floppy problems - 2007/07/01 14:07 Ok, I was given an old 7200/75 power mac with 16mb RAM and a 500mb HD, with OS 8.1 on it. I am trying to put 7.5.3 on it, but am having problems getting the floppy drive to work. I know is works because when I power the unit on with a floppy inserted, it spits it out. But whenever I insert a disk into the drive while the machine is running, it does nothing, no sound, no mounted disk on the desktop, nothing. I checked teh connectors, and they are plugged in. I used the drive twice. and now it wont do anything. I assume i need a new drive?
