upgrading ram on the new intel mini's - 2007/01/14 13:25 Is it harder & different than the original g4 mini's? Also, Apple's website shows 1gig expansions as 2x512, is this an error by site default or do they actual cram two sticks of memory in those lil things? I assumed the 2gig capabilities was 1 2gb stick of ram.

Re:upgrading ram on the new intel mini's - 2007/01/16 12:06 There's some differences in the Intel Mini from the original Mini.

You can find a take apart guide here:

Re:upgrading ram on the new intel mini's - 2007/01/16 14:22 This is the most frequently asked question in the Intel Mac mini Q&A.

The answer has links to a handful of upgrade guides that may be of interest, including the one that Krow mentioned.

I hope this is helpful.

Good point Brock.

The Q&A's are an invaluable resource which really should be read before posting questions to the forums. But even I forget sometimes ;-)

Re:upgrading ram on the new intel mini's - 2007/03/12 22:53 If you want to avoid the hassle of upgrading, why not just buy newer technologies mini-stack. I purchased a 500 gig drive, installed Tiger, and have an awesome library at my fingertips for storing movies (which take up a lot of space), pics, and music. This drive operates perfectly with my iMac G5, 2ghz, 160 gig HD. I have had this drive for nearly 9 months, have never had problems with it (like I did with Western Digital drives which literally drove me up a wall and lots gigs of "stuff").
Again, if you want to save money "upgrading" this is worth the money.
