Re:68k Machines - 2006/06/23 22:54 I've got several 68k Macs but they don't get much use these days. I still use a 68k converted to a PPC. It's a LC580 with a 275MHz 6500 board in it I use for playing some games on. Check out the how-to guide I made for making a LC6500 on:

My old Mac's are falling like flies, that's two down in the last month.
What is a Mac lover to do....

Re:68k Machines - 2007/04/26 19:06 I used to have six MacPluses, a couple of Classics, Classic II, a stack of LC series machines, Quadras, and on up through some the last 68k units. I loved them, and they came to me cheap through yard sales, freebies, and school liquidations. When I moved from the West Coast back east, I simply couldn't bring them along, and couldn't find anyone interested in taking them off my hands (remember each came with a huge, weighty monitor). Alas, virtually all went to the landfill. And so it goes, enjoy your vintage Mac. It simply proves what a reliable computer Apple produced in the first place. When you consider how long the Plus has been around, that's a statement when you can still fire one up and play a game, open an application, or open a file that doesn't run on anything else.

Re:68k Machines - 2007/04/26 19:33 My LC520 has been running for a while now, after washing the motherboard in the disk washer. I started replacing the leaky Cap so it will probably run for a good long time now..

My Plus just keep on keeping on.

All is good in Mac Land for now....
