Trouble with Printer SetUp Utility - 2006/05/27 13:42I have a HP Photosmart 1215 hooked up to my XP via USB. I have my XP and my iBookG4 networked to my XP. The problem is that when I try to use the printer setup, it comes up showing there is a printer on the network, but it doesn't say what it is and it wants a user i.d. and a password (I assume for the XP) and there isn't one. I'd like to be able to bypass this requirement (i.d./password) as I'd rather not have a pass on the XP. Anyone know of any workaround whereby I can access the printer without having any driver for it on the Apple? I had it working on a previous op sys install, but am frustrated now!
