iBook With Cracked Screen [Options?] - 2006/09/13 17:55 Hi Fellas,

This is my first post here & i'm somewhat of a mac virgin if you will.

I currently have in my possesion an ibook with a cracked screen, nothing comes up whatsoever. Although the backlight illuminates no GFX are displayed.

I was wondering if there was anyway to hook it up to a seperate monitor [Non-Mac], so I could use it's capabilities & view the actions on a seperate screen.

As a PC user i'm use to seeing the VGA port, so i'm sort of perplexed as to which cable or to which methods i could apply to accomplish this.

If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Re:iBook With Cracked Screen [Options?] - 2006/09/13 19:38 What version of the iBook do you have? More recent ones have a VGA port, but you need to have the right adapter to use it. Earlier versions, i think all the clamshells, do not have a video out.

After some research I found it has a "Mini-VGA" slot. So i've ordered a 'Mini-VGA - VGA' Adapter in assumption that that should do the trick.
