Universal French to English - 2006/08/23 11:18 How do I convert from Universal French (now installed) to English.
I have a Wallstreet G3 with 2 Gig Hard Drive and 256K of memory.

Universal French OS 9.2 is now installed. I would like to convert to North American English OS 9.2 but do not have the original CD for OS 9.2.

I do have the disk for OS 10.2 but I am a little afraid to try to install it because of the small 2 Gig Hard Drive.

Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Re:Universal French to English - 2006/09/13 23:19 If you need OS 9.x, you can buy it from any number of places.

FastMac (http://www.fastmac.com/), known for Mac upgrade kits, is one such vendor.
Also try AppleRescue (http://www.applerescue.com/) or even Hard Core Mac (http://www.hardcoremac.com/).

That last one can be pricey, so it should be considered a last resort.

As for OS X, you can upgrade the hard disk drive, but do so with caution. Accelerate Your Mac (http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/) has a guide to the task, but the guide also warns of a clash between the sleep switch and high-velocity, high-capacity hard disks. If I remember right, something like tinfoil will help get around it.
