a dumb question about sound - 2006/09/02 21:14 Hi, here is a dumb question. When placing a file into trash or emptying trash I used to get a neat littlesound effect, now, all is silent when adding to, or emptying trash. Why? any thoughs ? what did I do to change things and how do I get it back ?

Re:a dumb question about sound - 2006/09/03 01:14 More info... I have no "alert sounds" at all, none. I have gone into system preferences-sound, and checked the settings. Internal speakers are selected to play alerts, "Alert volume" is up, "play user interface sound effects" is ticked, I have "play feedback when volume is changed" un-ticked but have tried it both ways. I have also repaired permissions. If I change the alert sound, I do not get a sample of the sound as I should and the "help" icon" does not work, I can not click on it. What gives, any help would be great.
