12" PB G4 weirdness. Help? - 2006/08/30 00:32 I'm usually pretty good at diagnosing stuff like this, but this one's got me stumped.

Every once in awhile, my powerbook refuses to write to the hard drive. It'll read from the disk just fine (opening documents works) but attempting to save them brings up a dialogue box like "Couldn't Save foo.txt to folder Documents." A restart generally fixes it right up, at least for awhile, before it goes all whacky again. I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem (loose drive ribbon, maybe?) or something weird with my permissions (though verifying them doesn't help).

Anyone ever seen anything like this before? Any advice'd be appreciated.
