Al 15" G4 PBook Hinge - 2006/08/29 10:31 I have a 15" Aluminum Powerbook G4/1GHz laptop. I have noticed that the connection between the screen and the hinge bar (terminology?) is separating at the left side near the hinge joint. As the cover is opened, you can see a small (0.5-1.0 mm) gap flex open. The right side doesn't do this. The Apple service center says the connection cannot be tightened and the entire screen/hinge assembly needs replacement ($400). Question: Does anyone know if the connection in question can actually be tightened? also: The hinge has always seemed tight. Is there any way to ease the stiffness of this hinge to relieve the stress and prolong the life before replacement is required?

Thanks.
