powerbook g4 wont power on - 2009/11/03 11:39need help.my powerbook g4 stopped working after i tried transferring a file via usb and it somehow got stuck in the process of transferring so the transfer bar just kept loading.so being a dummy i took the battery out and restarted it and the same thing happened so i removed it again.and finally i transfer the file.and this time i properly shut down my laptop and when i go to my room im gonna watch a movie so i open up the lid and the screen turns on like it was in sleep mode and its just a gray screen.and im pressing the power button and everything i could try and then boom it just shut down and now the battery wont charge and twhen i press the power button i get no response from the laptop.i need help like asap.i need it for school please can any one help.i tried resetting the pmu the pram everything i could imagine and nothing.

Re:powerbook g4 wont power on - 2009/11/04 16:58There are a couple of things you could try. If the battery is flat and won't charge install a new one. Though the present one may well be fully charged. If you still have the install disk use that to start up, if not keep on resetting PRAM. I'm running a G4 and recently it hung. Force Quit didn't work. ReStart didn't work. Could find the Install Disk. So Reset the PRAM to the second ping three times. It worked.

Re:powerbook g4 wont power on - 2009/11/06 00:05it dosent show any reaction after i press the power button.i plug in the ac into my powerbook g4 and press the power button and nothing..the fans dont spin the screen dosent light up or even charge the batt.thx for the other advice tho.but i bought it off someone second hand so no restore disk or anything.any futher help would be gretly apprescitaed.but currently im moneyless so taking it into apple isnt an option for me
