G4 Titanium A1025 - 2009/09/01 06:41 Hi all I recently replace the hinges on this PB now my screen is messed up. I did pinch the wire (grey) on the side where there are only 2 wires, have since repaired wire but am only able to see top third of the lcd? the middle and bottom look like a bunch of vertical lines and 2 horizontal lines approx splitting the remainder of the screen in half
Is this the lcd or inverter or graphics chip?

please help I am so upset at this problem.

Can I swap LCD with any other LCD from Titanium say a M5884?

Re:G4 Titanium A1025 - 2009/09/05 18:01 You should stick to the same exact model of Powerbook when swapping LCD's. Apple used different LCD's and graphics chips in different models within the same lines of Powerbooks. I don't have much experience in these but I know someone who had trouble swapping screens from different models.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your LCD though. I would try replacing the cable first. Again, using a cable from the exact same model of Powerbook.

You should also post a question on the Apple discussion group for G4 Powerbooks on Apple.com. Someone there should be able to give you much better information on the subject.
