Need help with ibook - 2006/07/09 22:17 Hello! I need help (and hope I have posted in the right forum) with an ibook. I am helping a friend hook up her ibook to her DSL connection. I have upgraded her OS to 9.2.1, but for her to do online banking and access her work email, I need to update her browser. I have no idea what is compatable with 9.2.1. I am a PC person so please provide help in small easily undertandable words.

Here is what her bank and her job says she needs:
Netscape 6.2 and higher or IE 5.0 or higher.
She also needs Adobe Reader for work documents.

Where do I or can I still get this for her OS? Thanks for your help!

Re:Need help with ibook - 2006/07/10 00:35 Hi John,

This Q&A provides links to modern web browsers for MacOS 9. iCab and Netscape 7 are probably the best bets for compatibility with a particular banking website, but they're all free.

Adobe's website has Reader 5.0 for MacOS 9.x available for download.

I hope this is helpful.

Best wishes,

Brock

This is exactly what I needed!!! When I have searched Adobe and Netscape, they keep pushing the latest versions of stuff - and while I can find older versions, I just had no idea what would work for her OS. Thanks again for the help!
