Battery or Board - 2008/01/30 02:23I have a Pismo which runs just fine on the charger. The battery indicator gives four lights, but it will not boot on just the battery. It starts, but then cuts off. If I unplug it while running, it might run for maybe 20 minutes or it might shut off almost immediately. I hate to buy a new battery only to find that the battery-control board is no good. Is there any way to load test the battery outside the computer?

Re:Battery or Board - 2008/04/12 08:49Try taking the CD out of the right port and install the battery in the right side and see if that takes care of the problem, the battery can reside in either side! I personally run two batteries for longevity on the road with out the car adapter! If that cures your problems replace your power supply card, this card has the “fingers” to make contact with battery and do not only corrode but become week and will lose contact! I’ve had to replace mine when it would just shut down, that is when I found I could run two batteries, the first battery was and is still working, it was just the power supply board.

Re:Battery or Board - 2008/05/20 20:22I tried moving the battery. No change, so I ordered a new one. This is weird. At first, the new battery didn't charge. I experimented putting each battery, and both batteries. This is what System Profiler said.

However, I now have the new battery in and it's up to 65%. I guess re-inserting so many times must have cleaned the terminals?
