pismo screen line - 2007/05/29 20:49 My trusty pismo has developed 2 problems.

First a vertical line on the screen just appeared one day. If the screen is supposed to be black at that point it will definitely have a color.

Second there is static if I have the power supply plugged in. It is not there if the supply is not plugged in. It will lessen if I jiggle the power supply connection.

Any suggestions? I have considered replacing the screen which is available from ifixit for only 39.95.

Re:pismo screen line - 2007/05/29 21:05 The vertical line is a problem I've seen on several different Powerbook models and cannot be fixed without replacing the LCD as far as I know . It's like a whole row of pixels gone dead ? The funny thing is I've never seen horizontal lines like that. It's always vertical.

On the static I can't say what that could be. Maybe someone has some ideas or had the same issue before.

I would replace the LCD just because of the line and hopefully it would solve the static problem.

I would check the Apple site forums too. Maybe there is something there that could shed some light on it.
