G3 AirPort Wireless to Linksys-G?? - 2009/09/23 09:41 I was given a G3/600 with an AirPort card.
Going to put in 1 Gb RAM & OS X 10.3.

Have been PC for 30 yrs, so home wireless set up uses a Linksys-G Broadband Router cabled to a modem & then cable out of the house.

I would like to wirelessly hook the G3/600 to the Linksys-G box & wonder if this will work & what settings I will need to create on the G3??

Thank you

Re:G3 AirPort Wireless to Linksys-G?? - 2009/10/04 07:07 Welcome to the Mac side of things... and Everymac.com

If you have not purchased the OS disk you'll be better off with OS 10.4 than OS 10.3 but 10.4 is quite a bit more expensive. OS 10.4 will have more current applications & versions available than OS 10.3. Not a huge difference otherwise and you can still get by with 10.3 upgraded to 10.3.9.

With the Airport card installed you shouldn't need to do anything. The Airport software will install with the OS and all you need to to is click on the wifi icon on the right of the menu bar (top right of screen) to open the Airport search feature to find your wireless network.

Here is a link to the Airport manuals:
