Re:New symptom - 2009/08/28 16:43 Sounds like your eBay seller has included a disc from another machine.

Retail full install DVDs are black as stewieno1 pointed out. If yours is a silver grey coloured disc it is a system restore disc that will work generally ONLY with the machine it came with.

Many unscrupulous sellers list these as 'drop-in' and various system names. Others just burn a copy of the OS onto a plain disc. Is your disc Dual Layer even?
