G4 & trinitron monitor - 2009/07/27 21:31 Oops.
This is in the wrong place.
Copied it to Power Mac G3/G4/G5 forum.

Hello,
I have dug out my G4 from storage and tried to get it running.
I have it connected to a Sony Trinitron Multiscan monitor.
I hear the start up chime, but the monitor stays blank. The power light starts out green, then switches to "power save".
The video card is an ATI 8500, with a vga & dvi port.
I have tried both ports, the dvi with an adapter.
I have also tried an ATI Rage 128 Pro card with the vga port only.
The G4 is a agp 400 or 450.
I think it is running OS 9.
Is there an issue with the G4 card and the Trinitron monitor?
Would I be able to use a non-Apple LCD, (PC) monitor with this combination?
