Re:What kind of G4 do I have??? - 2009/06/29 16:37 Alright - I'm back. I'm not finding a Western Digital raptor drive that's 10000 RPM, 500 Gb (just my preference of size) and ATA/100 (they all seem to be SATA). I also saw something that was "Ultra ATA" and I'm assuming that also will NOT work in my unit.

I did find a unit that looks about right for my needs, but it's "EIDE". Is that compatible with my system? Here's the link - http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Western%20Digital/WD5000AAKB/ . Anybody have any thoughts on this one?

Now, for all you salesmen out there, here's your chance to sell me. I'm open to any suggestions. I need a 500GB drive, ideally 7200 RPM, 16MB cache, but I'm flexible. Thanks again - hope I'm not getting on any nerves with my many, many questions. Just wait 'till I open the thing up and get going... (LOL)

They certainly are confusing all these terms and this is what Apple have to say:"-
