G5 2.3 Memory specs - 2009/05/24 07:32 I have a G5 2.3 with PC4200 444 memory, but I noticed the specs on the machines listed on this site all claim the higher end G5s take PC4200 533. Should I be using the 533 as opposed to the 444? Is this a big deal? And when I bought this machine I thought it was a dual processor rather than a dual core, but this site lists the dual processor using PC3200 memory. I am confused.

Re:G5 2.3 Memory specs - 2009/05/24 17:00 Dual Processors come with PCI-X slots and Dual Core with PCI-Express or commonly referred to as PCIe. The PCIe can handle much faster graphic cards etc.

Go to About this Mac under the Apple icon in the menu bar and check what you have. Then check out the specs.

Re:G5 2.3 Memory specs - 2009/05/31 09:51 you can always verify what kind of powermac you have by searching the serial number of your machine online or at http://www.apple.com/support/

you can also use "About this Mac" as harryb suggested
