powermac quicksliver dual 800 server wuestion - 2008/07/25 07:00i have a dual 800mhz qs server and everymac.com says it doesnt support dual displays was this cause of hardware or software here is the link to the specs.
now mine qs is running 10.5 with the stock vid card i hooked up 2 crt monitors and all it did was one truned a little darker in color would this hurt my hardware in anyway if i reconnect them and leave it set up like that? also i have a mac mini id like to trade does everymac have a swap or can we just post it on the fourms? thanks roger

Re:powermac quicksliver dual 800 server wuestion - 2008/07/27 13:19Which video card do you have in your G4 ? It could have been upgraded or possibly an upgrade option when new. Generally the newer Radeon cards support dual monitors and a some nVidia cards like the TwinView also support dual monitors.
As far as it doing damage to your hardware I would guess no but you never know. As long as both monitors work then your card does support dual monitors and I wouldn't worry about it. The most it could do is hurt the monitor but I seriously doubt that would happen.
You should go into the Display system preferences and calibrate the monitors so they both match as well as possible. The darker monitor may just need calibrated.
