Re:6360 won't start up! - 2008/04/20 10:34 Haven't had a chance to try. The machine is parked 100 miles from here. Will get to try in the coming week and will let you know. Thanks for asking!

Re:6360 won't start up! - 2008/04/20 10:47 URL's to a couple of articles. Do you have any comments before I take that info 100 miles and try to troubleshoot that thing myself? Thx...

Re:6360 won't start up! - 2008/04/20 11:39 Good job finding the Apple articles. There's not much I can add.

If you can get the Mac to boot with the shift key down and all but the basic extensions off then you will be pretty sure there is a conflict in the extensions and that is keeping the Mac from booting.

If so, the next step is to figure out which extension(s) are causing the conflict. If you follow the instructions in the link to the Apple article you should be able to get the Mac running smoothly. Although it's much easier said than done. It's not really hard, just time consuming.

You may be able to save some time on the extensions game by Googling any 3rd party hardware or software installed in the Mac for extension conflicts. There are some well known common conflicts caused by certain hardware and software.

I would start by searching the Sonnet CPU and software version for known conflicts with other hardware or software. Sonnet makes very good products but it could be a simple conflict with another piece of hardware or software. It could be as simple as installing a different version of the Sonnet software, or eliminating the problem hardware or software. It could be a combination of several things too.

I can't be more specific without knowing exactly what you have in the Mac.

Good Luck !
