Sonnet upgrade - 2007/03/02 20:25 Hi All,
I have a PowerMac 7300 upgraded with an xlr8 G3/400 card.
Today I received a Sonnet Crescendo G4/450 card that I bought on Ebay.
After installing the Sonnet software I removed the G3 card, reset the
CUDA switch, installed the G4 card and booted. Nothing, no chime, just
the whir of the hard drive. I've tried reseating the card but it makes no
difference. I finally put the G3 card back and all is fine again.
Any thoughts? Can the card be dead?
Thanks ,
Herman

Re:Sonnet upgrade - 2007/03/09 12:25 Unfortunately it sounds like you have a dead card. I don't know what to suggest other than trying the card in another Mac if you can.

Re:Sonnet upgrade - 2007/03/12 12:29 Thanks for the input Krow.

I did try it in another 7300 that I have for parts
and it made no difference. Sonnet suggested that my video cards might
be a problem so I removed them in both machines but again, no luck.
I finally sent it back to the person I bought it from and I'm waiting to hear
from him.

Thanks again,
Herman
