Hard drive in quadra 630 - 2008/11/09 07:26What size hard drive can I put in my quadra 630? It originally came with a 250mb hard drive. I was thinking of a 4gb drive.

Re:Hard drive in quadra 630 - 2008/11/09 13:404GB will work fine. I've seen people use up to a 30GB hard drive in the 6xx series Macs.
Any IDE drive will work too, no need to find one with an Apple logo.

Re:Hard drive in quadra 630 - 2008/11/13 08:13The OS is not the limiter on recognizing the size of the hard drive, it is the IDE controller chip on the board.
I don't know why the 10GB drive would only show up as 1GB but it's not because of System 7. Apple sold several Macs with System 7 that included hard drives larger than 1GB.
