Discussion Q&A - New "Penryn" MacBooks? - 2008/03/05 09:45 What do you think about the new 'Penryn' MacBook and MacBook Pro models? Do you view the modest 'speed bumps' -- and addition of 'multitouch' on the MacBook Pro -- as worthwhile refinements of essentially perfect notebooks or were you hoping for more substantial new features or design changes? If you had the choice, what one feature would you add or change would you make?

Re:Discussion Q&A - New "Penryn" MacBooks? - 2008/03/05 10:42 i would add dedicated graphics to the macbook or at least the air. as much as the air costs it should have a real graphics card.

Re:Discussion Q&A - New "Penryn" MacBooks? - 2008/03/05 21:04 I have said it before, but the MacBook Pro needs to be easier to upgrade. The MacBooks make it easy to upgrade the RAM and hard drive and the MacBook Pro should be easier to upgrade too. - Mike

Re:Discussion Q&A - New "Penryn" MacBooks? - 2008/03/05 22:52 I still want a subnotebook more like the 12 inch PBG4, small but not as small as the MBA, with an ExpressCard 34 slot.

Re:Discussion Q&A - New "Penryn" MacBooks? - 2008/03/05 23:25 Raven66, I would not count on a smaller MacBook Pro, unless the MacBook Air is a failure. From Apple's perspective, going back to a small but thicker notebook would be a step backwards. I would like to see future MacBook Airs have a dock option, but we will all see what happens! - Mike

Re:Discussion Q&A - New "Penryn" MacBooks? - 2008/03/06 09:06 I second raven66's desire for a smaller MBP - 12" or 13". I need the power and connectivity options of the MBP, but prefer the smaller form factor. For me MBA is not an option since it's: slower, has a smaller HD, has minimalist connections and a non-user replaceable battery. As an alternative, Apple could bring the weight down on the current MBP 15" and then I would consider it.
